The Elderly Welfare Technology Laboratory of Hefei University of Technology was established in 2011 and has been approved to establish three provincial and ministerial level bases, including the National Smart Elderly Care International Science and Technology Cooperation Base, the National Elderly Welfare Information Technology Innovation and Introduction Base, and the China Aging Association Aging Research Base. Since its establishment, it has undertaken a total of 16 vertical projects such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the Anhui Provincial Key Research and Development Program, published more than 60 high-level papers, applied for 5 US invention patents (4 authorized) and 25 Chinese invention patents (19 authorized), published 2 translated works and 2 monographs, and won 2 first prizes and 1 second prize for teaching achievements in Anhui Province and 1 second prize for national teaching achievements.
The team focuses on chronic diseases in the elderly and conducts international collaborative research on intelligent elderly care and health management. The base has long-term close cooperation with international experts such as Professor Hongtu Chen, co director of The Harvard Social Technology for Global Aging (STGA) Research Initiative at Harvard University, and Professor Rhoda Au, head of the Department of Neuropsychology at the Framingham Heart Research Center at Boston University; And established contacts with experts from countries and regions such as Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Japan. Collaborate with experts at the base and actively participate in the development of relevant standards by the Health Level 7 international standardization organization.
The base actively introduces advanced international theories, systems, technologies, products, and services of smart elderly care into China, and has initially formed a collaborative innovation cooperation network based on the Living Lab concept in China, including Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the School of Nursing at Capital Medical University, the Smart Health Elderly Care and Service Engineering Laboratory of Beijing Academy of Sciences and Technology, the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Fudan University, the Guangdong Smart Elderly Care Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, the School of Political and Public Affairs Management at Sun Yat sen University, Foshan University of Science and Technology, Anhui Lenian Health Elderly Care Industry Co., Ltd., Anhui Leting Health Elderly Care Industry Co., Ltd., Hefei Shuyi Information Technology Co., Ltd., Gansu Provincial People's Hospital, and the Virtual Elderly Care Home in Chengguan District, Lanzhou City.
